Why you should hire a virtual assistant.

Your blog is hopping, your inbox is full, you have laundry to do, and kids to feed (or fur babies!).  What is a busy one-women-operation to do?

I know many small handmade businesses feel like they don't have the funds available to hire someone to help out with the tasks that are taking up their time in the day that need to get done but take away from the time you could be spending on the things you really love, the whole reason you started your business your passions.  But look at it this way, the small investment you can make in your business can make a huge impact to push your business to the next level.

Virtual Assistants are a great, low cost investment that can truly help your business.  When you team up with the right person who cares about you and wants to see your business succeed you both win and everyone is happy.  Plus bonus a virtual assistant is a small business too, so that means you are getting the good parts of an "employee" but without the taxes, vacation and sick days!  Woot!

Ok sounds great right, you are ready now how the heck do you find this magical wonderful being that will take away all the mundane tasks and leave you to craft until your heart is full.... Well first off there is me :D  but if my schedule is full or we aren't the right fit here are a few ways to find Virtual Assistant (VA) of your dreams!

  • Ask your crafty circle, most VAs are hired from word of mouth. Are you in a network forum of other successful small businesses, an Etsy group, a Facebook group?  This is a great source of information and contacts!

  • Have a good following on Facebook?  Post a "want ad" there, I promise you, you will get responses, you may have to weed through them but you will get someone out there that would love to work with you.  Same goes for posting a want ad on your blog if you have a readership.  Time and time again when bloggers post they are looking for help within 24-48 they have to close the application window due to a large amount of applicants.

  • Google is your friend, you found my site right?  Many probably from a google search!  Here are some key words: Virtual Assistant, VA, Small Business, handmade, artist.  You get the idea!

Until we meet again, get to crafting folks!
